Meetings
A meeting is held in January to plan the year's activities. Thereafter there is a meeting once a month, and usually two extra meetings are scheduled each year to complete UFO's (Unfinished Projects) .
Members may bring their own projects to work on each month or they may work on a kit offered by a tutor. Proceeds from public displays, usually held every two years, are used to subsidize tutors from outside Nelson to come and teach new techniques. A short business meeting is held during the morning tea or lunch break. There is a show-and-tell table where members display completed projects – a source of inspiration, often, for other members.
A monthly raffle augments club funds.
Members may borrow resources from the club’s extensive library: books, magazines, tools and machinery.
Two members each month are hosts for the meeting: duties include setting out and putting away equipment and providing light refreshments.
